The good news of the Gospel is that you can be saved.
You can be forgiven for the sins of your past.
You can live a sin-free life.
To be saved, you must first admit that you are a sinner and need Christ in your life. People often get hung up here. They feel they're already good enough and don't really need God. After all, "salvation is just for the down-and-outers." However, the Bible lets us know that . . .
all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
our righteousness is as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6).
all must be born again (John 3:3).
The next step involves talking to God in prayer. Fancy words aren't needed, just a humble and contrite heart. Simply confess your sins and ask forgiveness, along with asking Christ to come and live in your heart. This involves more than just turning over a new leaf or trying to do better. You must be willing to turn your back on sin and let Christ take control of your life. Once you meet the conditions, God not only forgives your sins and erases your past, He also fills you with power so you can live holy — without sin — each day!
The Bible refers to this experience as the "new birth," denoting the change that takes place once we are saved and filled with God's Spirit. The old, sinful ways end, and a new life of righteous living begins.
Once you are saved, there are certain habits you'll need to develop that will help you maintain your salvation and "grow in grace." If you need help or prayer at any time during your walk with God, please feel free to contact us.
